Faversham is Kent’s oldest market town and was granted a charter by Henry III in 1252, confirming its status as one of the county’s famous Cinque Ports. Faversham continued to flourish over the centuries as an important trade centre and later, as a brewery town – today, it’s still home to Shepherd Neame, which claims to be Britain's oldest brewer.
