As we welcome a new year, we wanted to give you the hot-off-the-press trend alerts to help you sell your home and a few hints and tips to making your new home yours as soon as you get the keys.
The market is all about you and your home, that’s why it’s important to focus on the present and upcoming trends so you don’t feel like a stick in the mud and lose out on a great price for your property.
Pantone has released their 2023 colour of the year: Viva Magenta! Described as “rooted in the primordial Pantone 18-1750, Viva Magenta reconnects us to the original matter.” Viva Magenta is a great colour to welcome in the new year. Think about sprucing up your front door, or even adding a few viva-magenta-esque pillows to spice up the room!
2. A Time for Reflection
Since 2020, many people have been turning their homes into comfortable sanctuaries. With more people hosting their at-home gyms and offices, the DIY-room décor has become a popular Pinterest search.
Now is the best time to start thinking about just how you can turn your home into your own serene living space. Bathrooms are one of the most inexpensive, simple rooms to personalise, with natural wood and soothing greens being an expected trend.
3. Going Eco
2023 is all about going eco-friendly! In the past few years, the popularity of going green has grown. Electric cars, upcycling and the use of healthy building materials are not only great for the planet but great for your pocket too.
This year is the year to start thinking about how you can opt to use more environmentally-friendly furnishings, as well as how to cut down your waste consumption!
4. Feel Luxurious
We expect the popularity of Gold accents, pampas grass and sage greens to continue into 2023. The regal hit Netflix show, Bridgerton, could be one of the main culprits for the desire for indulgent green and gold tones, however, self-appointed home guru Stacey Solomon raved about her Christmas tree made entirely of pampas, surging another trend for the elegant but cost-effective décor.
Opulence and lavishness are set to be a big trend for 2023, so why not start finding easy DIY hacks to bring hints of regency into your home?
5. Keep It Light
Lighting is the second most important thing in your home. Whether you’re team warm light or bright light, it’s the one thing that can change the mood of your room.
In 2023, we expect to see a resurgence of warm, peppered lighting. Statement lamps can add a pop of colour to your chosen room, as well as floor lamps adding height and layers.
